Approximately after 100 miles it happened again, so he thinks that the problem is not in the transmission.
Hey Guys Long time no post here I don't know if that's good or bad but lol recently I just put in A new ignition switch in my 1995 Chevy K 1500 Truck. Did not expect to have trans. Buy a recycled 1995 Chevrolet K1500 Pickup transmission and save thousands of dollars. I had the transmission rebuilt and an external cooling system installed. Chevrolet has told me the transmission failures are not related and has refused to provide me with a final lasting fix to the problem. I'm sure there's something I missed.
Rebuild did the same this 42000 miles. That has nothing to do with the question. Using scanner, activate 1-2nd shift solenoid, using screwdriver or other means, listen for audible click from trans oil pan. Iwas charged 90 plus dollars for the part and labor. I am having my changed has i type im putting one from a v6 into a truck with a v8 that i had a hard time getting answers to since lots of people post who have no clue.
The tranny was replaced at 180000. Replace the master cilinder and put some good aftermarket rotors and pads. I need the truck to be dependable. Although it says that the performance of the truck is not hindered, it's wrong. It drove me nuts trying find info and will post how this installation go's and if any differences in drive ability arise. As long as it is the same transmission 4L60E in the donor vehicle and your truck they show the same part number.
Selecting 1-2nd sol shift on genesis or snap-on scanner will ensure that wiring to solenoid and internal tcm pwr and grnd circuit and 1-2nd sift solenoid are in working order if audible click is heard. It shoul … d be the quick connector type. They all have failed due to the cooling system becoming clogged, causing the transmission to overheat. I was just trying to explain Chevy's problem. At the time, the vehicle was only three years old, and did not have especially high mileage, yet the transmission repair was not covered under the warranty.

There is nothing wrong with the engine, but there's definitely something with the transmission. It may be that signal is tied into the transmission to dictate shift points as well as lock up.
Thanks for your help now. Note that it has new brakes, new glass-pack muffler and tailpipes with chrome tips, new tie rods, and new windshield washer pump. While you have the pan off, swap the 3-2 downshift solenoid. Did not expect to have trans. The source of water in the system was the cooling system for the transmission fluid which runs through the radiator. It would be a shame to go through all that trouble for a simple blown fuse. Sometimes if its stuck in 3 and go 2 second it will go to 2 and wont go back.
