Although a small, car the trunk is generous and can easily handle my golf clubs when required. When driving this car it feels like it is a part of you and it handles really well. The car is very low to the ground and sometimes it is hard to get in and out of, especially if my husband's knee is acting up. This is not something I do that often so it really has not been a problem. You just never no when you may really need emergency braking to avert some other inconsiderate motorist or pedestrian! Try the window from both drivers and passengers switches. You may also want to check wether you have a good strong spark at the spark plug.
Do the brakes feel spongy when applied in a quick stop? I also am not comfortable driving it at highway speeds. Change gearbox oil, before you do that check the upper and lower shift boots and turret oil. It isn't as easy as you'd think as there are spring cables to fit, some riveting to do, and a lot of the interior around the rear that has to come out. Serviced just over a month ago so new plugs and filters fitted then. We have kept up with basic maintenance and have had no major mechanical problems with it. Use 10w40 oil when refilling. Otherwise check your power to that motor while operating the switches and while any safety lock-out switch on the driver's switch panel is in the correct operating position. I often find I can push start mine if it suffers from a similar act of forgetfulness.
Aug 12, 2017 remove the key from the ignition get a 21 mm socket and wrench and try to turn the crankshaft clockwise to see if it moves if it moves try to push start the car push the car to about 1 to 2 miles an hour with the key in the on position all dash lights on eg. Tries to fire as soon as I turn the key, misses, then just cranks. If I had to think of any negatives to this vehicle I would remind people that this is a small car that is low on the ground so when traveling in heavy traffic on the larger roads it can feel a little scary at times. The battery may have been on it's last legs anyway and decided that the punishment was just a bit too much. I also am not comfortable driving it at highway speeds. We put the top down and just drove out in the country in the middle of nowhere. Car refused to start at pumps.
Answered on Apr 29, 2014. Sounds like you may have some air mixed in with the hydraulic fluid reducing the braking efficiency. I then have to keep my foot on the accelerator for a reasonable period of time to keep the revs up and charge the battery sometimes it takes a day or so to come completely right again without stalling out at lights etc. We have done some repairs, however the top needs to be replaced. The interior has some wear, but overall looks good.
