I researched the issue and found a Ford recall 04s12 for 2003 Ford Taurus that said brake lights would stay on all the time. So I turn the key back and forth 6 or 7 times and it starts. When I set the climate control closed loop control system it gets hotter as I set it lower. Service Engine light is still on. The failure and current mileages were unknown. We changed the Fuel cap twice but to no avail. It is not an issue of the airconditioning not funtioning, it is actually sending heated air when it should be calling for air conditioning. I did notice that some wires to the headlight switch looked frayed, so I put some electrical tape around them, but still no luck. The car had to be towed to a mechanic who looked to see if the filter had fallen causing no fluid to get to the pump. Prior history of repairs such as transmission failure in 2012. Talked to 5 different mechanics and all agreed that it was transmission. And all was fine for 4 months.
